Meleesa + BUmble and Bumble = Great looks
28 Jul
Hello Friends and Lovely Fans!
It’s me, Meleesa and I have a great story to tell you about what happened to me this month in the Big Apple – that’s right New York City!
I had the honor of being chosen to attend a very special event hosted by Bumble and Bumble, hosted by Creative Director Howard McLaren and one of their amazing stylists, Bronwen.
So, this is how it all went down…
I get a call form Carlos, (he works wit Bumble and Bumble in the west coast) and he told me the news. B&B was in town for a road show, which itself was full of inspiration. With them was Rolando Beauchamp, one of my favorite and most inspiring Hair Artists on this planet earth. Check him out here. WOW! The talent this man has in his head and hands is priceless and the creativity that flows though him just made me awaken from dormant state of reality I’ve been feeling lately.
Okay, so let’s move ahead with our story… RING RING. Hello? Yes, Carlos? Yes, it’s Meleesa. Oh hello, I wanted to invite you to this very special event Howard decided to hold, a class on makeovers and consultations Monday in Los Angele. Can you come?
OMG! I was so excited as I’ve always been a passionate B&B fan and user; what a complement!
They said, “so you need a model. “Ok,” I said. And my journey began… I soon found out that only 13 people from LA to San Diego areas where picked, and your truly was one of them. Who else could I possibly think of using, but Kat – my muse – to be my model! Luckily, she was available. So, on we went.
The two of us arrived at the salon where the event was held (can’t remember the name at this moment) and walked into this amazing energy of creativity, there we all where excited, nervous and ready to create… We all sat with our models and did the deepest consultations and learned so much.
My eye is my sharpest tool, I quickly came to realize. So, into the photo booth went Kat for the the “before” shot. And as soon as she came out, I started my creation.
Primarily, I wanted to enhance her color and uplift her curls with a cut, using inversions and internal layers the cut started to come alive. I styled the heck out of her hair, it looked fabulous.
Lets step out of the box.. (oh, side note: I totally forgot my diffuser…) Here is the recipe for the look we gave Kat:
1- shapoo the hair with Curl concoios SHmpaoo and Conditioner
2- Spray Tonic Lotion
3- Spray Does it All spay and Styling Lotion
4- separate Hair and pin like a PIN Curl (using little pincurl clips
5- Diffuse PInned up
6- Let cool , take off pin curl
7- softtly break them up
8- enjoy and love the way you look!
What an exciting day in my life as a Hair Guru in the making…
