1 Apr

1. Start by picking one of your favorite colors from the Kevin Murphy Color
Bugs.
2. Place a towel on your shoulders.
3. Subdivide the hair in smaller sections. Starting in the mid shaft, rub the
color bug on the hair.
4. Continue with all sections.
5. YES, fun dip die ponytail!

Oh, want to turn it into a fun bun?
Just wrap it around the ponytail and start to pin the hair with bobby pins.

Trip to San Francisco

24 Sep

Hi, it’s Meleesa from Meleesa the Salon here in downtown Huntington Beach, California – a unique salon, where we love to Inspire, Create and Educate! Expanding our inspiration allows us to create for you, and when we can combine our travel and education, you’ll receive a magical experience at the salon.  As a passionate hair artist, I am constantly searching for creative individuals who possess talents that I can learn from and vice versa. Me and Tara Harman, one of our New Talent stylists, recently headed out to San Francisco for a weekend of inspiration with the ‘Kevin Murphy’s Biggest’ show and left infused with fresh ideas stimulated by the show and that incredible city.
Thoughts on San Francisco: I savored its delicious foodie scene and took delight in seeing the wide variety of farmers come together for one of my favorite farmers’ markets, located in The Ferry Building. The constant fresh, cool breeze made it effortless to explore the city up and down.
Moving onto the hair: Meeting Kevin Murphy and seeing the team that heads up the creative vision for the company was super inspiring. The first of our three evenings started with the Runway Show that would dictate the pace of the entire weekend. Looks from the show featured the collections of Kevin Murphy and David Glover, another incredible talented hair artist. Lots of shades of color provided the canvas for the artistic styles; Blondes, Brunettes, Pink, Lavender, Orange and even Golden looks debuted the styles for the night. Products used to curl, set, style and blowout the hair included Pink Color Bug ( also known as hair chalk), Antigravity, Hair Resort Spray and Texture Master.

Style Files: Katy Perry

Katy Perry quits goth and gets a new flapper-inspired look!

Well, that was a short Goth phase! Katy Perry turned up at the City of Hope Music and Entertainment Industry Group Honors’ event Tuesday night in full-on 1920s flapper-inspired gear (has someone been watching Downton Abbey? Hmmm.).

Anyway, in case you missed it (or already forgot), this is what Katy looked like as of late last week:

What do you think of Katy Perry’s brand-new look? Which style do you prefer—Goth or 1920s flapper? Comment below and let us know!
